Biography:
Prof. Tan Hui-Meng

Professor Dr Tan Hui-Meng is a consultant Urologist at the Subang Jaya Medical
Center, and an Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Medicine (Health Research
Development Unit), University of Malaya since June 2003.
He is also the Secretary General of the Asia Pacific of Impotence Research
and Vice President of the Asian Society of Endourology.
He graduated with an MBBS from the University of Malaya in 1980 and completed
his fellowship in surgery in 1985 and in endourology in 1987 in the USA and
Germany.
Prof. Tan is a member of many learned societies and is currently the President
of the Malaysian Society of Andrology and The Study of The Aging Male, Chairman
of the Asia Pacific Council for the Study of the Aging Male and the Malaysian
Erectile Dysfunction Advisory Council and Training.
He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) and the Royal
College of Surgeons and Physicians (Glasgow).
Prof. Tan was a scientific committee member of the WHO sponsored First and
Second Consultations in Sexual and Erectile Dysfunction.
He has presented numerous papers at many local and international conferences
and has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals.
Prof. Tan is on the editorial boards of several journals including the International
Journal of Impotence Research, Journal of Sexual Dysfunction, Journal of Sexual
and Reproductive Medicine and the Asian Journal of Andrology.
Prof. Tan is the inaugural editor-in-chief of Men's Health - an international
peer reviewed journal focusing on medical perspective in Men's Health and
the Aging Male.
Prof. Tan main areas of research include the field of urolithiasis, percutaneous
surgery and men's health which extends into prostatic diseases, erectile dysfunction
and hormonal changes in the aging male.
